Restylane is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler derived from natural protein (non-animal based), to restore volume and fullness to the skin. This is particularly effective on:
• Nasolabial folds, also known as “marionette”
lines.
• Lip line crevices, also known as “smoker's”
lines.
• Enhancing lip fullness.
• Moderate to severe facial wrinkles.
Today, there is an increasing interest in correcting facial wrinkles and folds, shaping facial contours and augmenting the lips. With Restylane, you can achieve a natural lift using the body's own material. Results are instantaneous and produce a long-lasting and natural enhancement which is gentle and safe to the skin

Restylane is proven to deliver a longer-lasting effect than traditional collagen, with virtually no risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction. In addition, bovine collagen is derived from animals (cow) and requires an allergy test. Because Restylane is non-animal-based, it can be administered without pre-testing, so no waiting is required.
Restylane is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultra-fine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort. The procedure is simple and convenient, and results are practically instantaneous. To optimize your comfort during the short period we may anesthetize the treatment area. Resylane lasts twice as long as collagen, so treatments are typically scheduled twice a year. Evidence shows that having a touch up before the product has fully dissipated will enhance the lasting effect.
Please observe the following after treatment with Restylane:
- Immediately after the treatment, the most commonly reported side effects were temporary redness and swelling at the injection site. These effects typically resolve within two to three days. Cold compresses may be used immediately after the treatment to reduce swelling. If the inconvenience continues beyond two to three days or if other reactions occur, please contact your physician.
- Avoid touching the treated area within six hours of your treatment. After that, the area can be gently washed with soap and water.
- Until the initial redness and swelling have resolved, avoid exposure of the treated area to intense heat (sunlamp or sunbathing).
- If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another recurrence. Speak to your physician about medications that may minimize a recurrence.
- Avoid exercise and alcohol for six hours after your treatment.
- Evidence shows that having a follow-up treatment before the product has fully dissipated will enhance the lasting effect. Please be sure to consult your physician about recommendations for follow-up treatments.
- For one week prior to your next treatment with Restylane®, avoid taking aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John's Wort, and high doses of Vitamin E supplements. These agents may increase bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
